CACC Nursing Assistant

This course is a basic nurse aide training program, approved and taught under the rules and regulations from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). If a student successfully completes the course, he or she will be eligible to sit for the certification exam through IDPH.  The curriculum is rigorous and attendance guidelines are strict and enforced.   Since many facilities will not hire nursing assistants until age eighteen, first priority for course entry is given to seniors, but juniors may take the course, if space is available.   In order to qualify for the course, students must show reading proficiency by completing an exam at CACC. If students pass their certification exam, they will receive the title of CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).

Program length: 2 years
